Simon commenced at Fell & Starkey (later to become Ernst & Young) in 1977, and spent 4 years in audit before moving to business services, and tax advice.
 
Left in 1982 and travelled overseas, including working for 5 months in Ernst & Young London.
 
On returning to Australia, worked for several years in different industry positions as a financial controller, and joined Telstra’s corporate area in 1986 just prior to the privatisation of Telstra. After 4 years in corporate accounting moved to Telstra Treasury as accounting and settlements manager.
 
In 2002, moved back into public practice and joined A Basile & Associates as a partner.
 
In 2007 left and set up Asset Builder Accountants Pty Ltd, to work closely with a financial planning firm preparing SMSF accounts and returns.
 
Since 2012 Simon has operated as S K Lowther & Associates looking after a variety of small to large businesses and individual clients.
 
Simon’s primary focus and expertise is tax planning, business structuring, superannuation and self-managed superannuation funds (SMSF’s)
